Let the Festivities Begin!

This is my first Thanksgiving & my Mama says that we have family coming from all over to meet me. I am so grateful for all my family & can't believe how loved I am already. There have been so many people wanting to hold me, love on me & just be around me.

Our Thanksgiving festivities began on Saturday when my Great Aunt Suzie, Uncle Nelson & couisin Becky arrived. Nana has always stole the title of "The Hawk" but we have decided that Aunt Suzie will be "The Hawk #2" :)

She hasn't put me down since she got here!I really liked meeting my cousin Becky....she's funny looking!

Yesterday my Aunt Jenn, & cousins Rollins & Christian came in town. We went over to see them & got to hang out with YaYa, Poppy & Lauren. Here is my Nana & YaYa with me & Christian. There has been a lot of baby passing going on lately.

Tomorrow my mom's friend Mrs. Erica is coming to meet me & then Mama & Daddy are taking me to see Grammy, Aunt Christi & meet some more cousins. I am still waiting for my Aunt Susan & Uncle Joe to get here & we will also go see ChaCha, JoJo & Gramma Cathy.

I'll make sure my mom puts up some new pics when they all get here.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Changes & Updates

Sorry we seem to have fallen off the blogging wagon. We had a really busy week last week trying to get ready for company coming in town & us going out of town. Audrey has alot to update you on:

I took my first long car ride to Birmingham, AL to visit my Aunt Jenn, Uncle Ryan & my two cousins Rollins & Christian. Rollins loves playing & he can run really fast. He talks so much & he loves saying my name over & over again..."Oddy, Oddy, Oddy". Christian & I are two weeks apart but you wouldn't be able to tell that ....he is MUCH bigger than me.

My daddy went out with the He Man Woman Haters Club to go play in the woods & riding there trucks in the mud with my Uncle Ryan & friends...the gals stayed at home in the warmth. We had a fun time playing with Lauren & Shireen & just being girls!

The only bad thing was that I started to feel a little under the weather & my mom said I was getting my first cold. Since I'm so little, the doctor said that I can't take any medicine so my Daddy put me in a steamy shower with him & kept a humidifier on for me. I am feeling much better now but I think its because I gave my cold to my momma & dad.

When we got back my Auntie Racheal was waiting to see me & she said that mom & dad needed sleep so we had a slumber party on Monday night. I stayed up from 1am til 5am with her & my momma got to sleep. Thanks for helping my mamma get better Auntie!

I am starting to smile when my daddy is being silly & my mamma says I'm starting to get my own look (whatever that means:) My mom says that I am changing everyday so we took some pictures before my nap yesterday & my Nana made a bow for my wild hair.

My mamma says that we are having Thanksgiving next week & that we are going to visit with lots of family. She also said that I am going to meet a bunch of new family too & that my Aunt Suey & Uncle Joe Mexico are coming to meet me. We will take bunches of pictures so that we can blog next week.

One Month

Audrey, You are only one month old & already you have learned so many new things & have so much personality. I don't want to say that you are advanced (I always hate when all parents claim their child is advanced...not ALL children can be advanced:) but you learn so quickly. You found your thumb only a few days after we left the hospital. You held your head up when you were only 10 days old, you rolled over twice at two weeks (even though you probably didn't mean to) & you smiled at me (on purpose, I think) at 4 weeks.

You wriggle all the way down in your cradle so that your feet touch the bottom. Your hair is absolutely wild...and you gets the hiccups pretty much after every meal.

Our very first night home from the hospital Audrey was keeping herself up with the hiccups...we got it on video but it has taken me forever to upload it to the computer. I am still having problems getting it on the blog. I also took this one when she was about a week old. Ryan says he is going to play this when any boys come over to take her out :)
Make sure you have the sound on for both.

Audrey, I never knew how much fun a little one could be but Daddy & I pretty much fill up our entire weekends watching you sleep, make faces or just have staring contest with you. (Nana calls it "playing dolls"). I hope you feel how loved you are by not only your Daddy & Me but by all the other family members around (Nana, Duke, JoJo, ChaCha, Grammy, Gramma Cathy, El Duke, Mimmi & Mimi, Aunt Lindsay, Aunt Christy) & the ones that are thinking of you all the time but can't always be near you (Aunt Susan & Uncle Joe Mexico, Aunt Jenn & Uncle Ryan, Rollins, Christian, Uncle Robbie, Grampa, Aunt Racheal, the Yaya (aunt Kat) and of course all of our PA family). We love you so much more than we could ever imagine. Daddy & I will watch you sleep or look at your little faces & cannot imagine our life without you. You are truly the best gift God has ever given us personally & I know that He has awesome plans for your life. I am honored He trusts us enough to help you fulfill them.

Her are a few pics of her CRAZY HAIR
Crazy head-Sporting her mohawk...its her signature do (that happens whether I try to style it or not)

Election Day-Audrey's Voice

This blog is going to be very hard for me to write & very controversial. I have really debated about whether or not to do it but it lays very heavy on my heart & I feel like I have to be the voice for those who do not have a voice (or rights for that matter).

I am not a very political person & I definitely would not claim to be either a democrat or republican. When it comes time to vote, I try to look at the facts & pick the candidate who has the best qualifications & similar beliefs as I.

I love the "on the issues" website because it records the facts without bias. It simply tells you how the candidates voted on certain issues in the past; which to me speaks more volumes than any debate, commercial or press conference ever will.

I have really struggled about how to vote come Election Day & have considered not even voting...Until yesterday.

Ryan, my mom & I were discussing the presidential candidates & I was barely engaging in the conversation (like I said, I'm not very political). We started talking about abortion & what's called a "partial-birth abortion" (actually the technical term is Dialation & Extraction). I have to say that I felt very ignorant & ashamed of my country.

First of all, I do not agree with abortion, never have, never will...not even in the case of rape or incest....that is just my personal opinion & belief which comes from the Bible & being a Christian.
I believe that even in ANY case, God can work all things together for Good-Romans 8:28

And that before we were even formed in our mothers womb, God knew us -Jeremiah 1:4-5

I don't feel like it is my place to judge someone who has gotten an abortion. They will have enough guilt & emotional struggles to deal with on there own not to mention when the Ultimate Judge gets a hold of them. And when I say I don't judge them, I try (truly) not to judge. I would not want to be held accountable for some of my sins, & in God's eyes aren't we all sinners?

Anyway, back to the topic & the reason for this blog...the presidential candidates.
I think we are kinda stuck between a rock (Obama) & a hard place (McCain) when it comes to our choices for president. I really don't think either is the "best candidate" for president...and I think this country is in trouble in more ways than one. We are in an economic crisis, we have taken God out of this country....I'm surprised we are not getting "NOAHed" again. (You know God destroying the earth & starting over). I'm sure that God is looking down on us & wondering why he ever made that promise.

Anyway, the thing we were discussing & the reason that I have made my decision to vote for McCain comes from ONE vote. The one vote that Obama made against Banning Partial-Birth Abortions. Not only did he vote against banning them but he also called the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act Unconstitutional.

A partial-birth abortion is where the abortionist "partially" delivers a live baby & then inserts a sharp object into the baby's head & sucks its brains out. This procedure can be perfomed on a woman who is 9 months pregnant. And from what I have been reading, it doesn't always kill the baby..sometimes the baby is delivered & is still alive.

These websites describe what a partial birth abortion is:
http://www.allaboutpopularissues.org/what-is-partial-birth-abortion-faq.htm
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5168163

How it is performed:

How the candidates voted on the issue (not how they feel):
http://www.ontheissues.org/senate/Barack_Obama.htm#Abortion
http://www.ontheissues.org/john_mccain.htm#Abortion

Not only does Obama agree with the Partial-birth abortion but he also voted against the BAIPA (Born Alive Infants Protection Act) which would give any child that is an abortion survivor (meaning born alive) full human rights.

I was unaware & ignorant to this issue & upon hearing it, my heart truly broke into a million pieces & I was afraid for our country. I have been trying to come up with a way to make you FEEL that this is wrong & it is hard to put into words because it goes without saying. I can just about guess that you are already feeling as sad & concerned as I. You are probably thinking about your new little baby, grandbaby, nephew, niece, godchild or friend’s child. Knowing what a joy & blessing they are you cannot fathom how this procedure even came about.
Here is the closest I can get, imagine at nine months pregnant with Audrey, I said I had decided to get this procedure, after you had already felt her and seen her moving inside me, would you feel that it was my RIGHT? And now, knowing her for only 4 weeks, can you imagine life without her.

What scares me even more is how this came about in our country. It is incredible that we are in such moral disarray that a human life has become meaningless. I can’t understand how our law makers have gotten to the point. I always thought their job was to make good laws to protect us and force people do the right thing for the good of society. Maybe I am just naive but has American become so corrupt that the politicians just make laws to get votes or gain power or are they being controlled by something else?

I have decided that I need to become a little more informed and involved and will not be influenced by what they are saying but what they are doing. And by voting for Obama I feel that I would be voting in favor of the things he has voted for & cannot in good conscious support him. If he can influence America as a Senator & stop laws from protecting us imagine what he would be able to do as president.

Below is an ultrasound picture: You’re telling me that this is a fetus?... This is Audrey!
